The majority of the first homes in Killarney-Glengarry were sold to WWII soldiers returning home from battle for just $25. The Killarney-Glengarry Community Association was established in 1945 with the mission to create a strong sense of community for families starting and rebuilding after the war. Most of the original homes were bungalows of stucco and clapboard built on 25ft and 50ft lots. City rezoning has paved the way for many of these homes to be replaced with infills on subdivided lots.
